Post Op Instructions for Breast Augmentation

YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALONE FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS POST OP!

  1. Medication Should Be Taken As Directed
    - Do not take aspirin or anti-coagulants for 2 weeks.
    - Prescription pain medication can cause nausea, vomiting & constipation. Take 1/2 a pill with food (NOT on an empty stomach) if needed. You may take another 1/2 pill in 20 minutes and up to 2 every 4 hours as needed for pain.

  2. Activity
    - Should be minimal for the next 24 hours to avoid excessive bleeding.
    - Resume activity & return to work as tolerated.
    - Do not drive while under influence of pain medication and/or anesthetic agents.

  3. Personal Care
    - Bra can be removed the next day. Shower or bathe with antibacterial soap and water. If you had TUBA expect drainage from umbilical area & change dressing as needed. If you have steri-tapes, pat or air dry.
    - If blue ink markings are evident,remove them with a brush or loofah.
    - Sleep any way that is comfortable for you.
    - Avoid alcohol for 48 hours.
    - Bra is optional. If you have a binder or strap use it as often as you can comfortably wear it until your first appointment.
    - If you had TUBA lumpy areas across the tunnels may be felt, this is normal & generally disappears in time. Heat & massage to the area may help.

  4. Call (262) 245-0535, Ext. 2211 if you experience:
    - Temperature greater than 100 degrees
    - Unequal pain, excessive swelling, redness or pus-like drainage from the breast or navel
